Women's Initiative Member Lynne Liberato Honored for Community Service
 United Way Women's Initiative member and Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Lynne Liberato has been named the 2010 recipient of the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary's annual Leon Jaworski Award for outstanding community service. She is the first female recipient in the award's 23-year history.
"I am especially grateful to receive this award because of its focus on community service," said Liberato. "I have had the joy of seeing the impact of United Way on our community and to be a part of making measurable improvements in the lives of our fellow citizens. I share this award with those who have made that possible."
Liberato is considered among her peers as one of Houston's most respected and accomplished attorneys, and her work outside the courtroom is equally impressive. Elected to the United Way Board of Trustees in 1993, Liberato has been a dedicated and tireless leader who has generously donated her time, energy and vision to United Way in a number of ways over the past 17 years, including:
• Chairman of the Board, (2005-2007)
• Chair, United Way THRIVE (2009- present)
• Board of Trustees and Executive Committee member (2003-2007)
• Chair, Board Governance and Nominations Committee (2007-2009)
• Chair, Hurricane Katrina/Rita Task Force (2005)
• Community Impact Committee (2003-2006)
• Chair, Allocations Task Force (1998-1999)
• Chair, Law Firm Initiative (2002-2006)
The Leon Jaworski Award, named for the famed Watergate special prosecutor, recognizes attorneys who donate their time to community improvement. A panel of business and community leaders selects the recipient. The award presentation took place on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
