Hometown Huddle is a Hit

United Way Young Leaders and the Houston Texans teamed up to promote health and fitness during the 8th annual NFL/United Way Hometown Huddle on October 6.

The Texans 2009 Rookie Class and Young Leaders warmed up and worked out with more than 80 third-grade students from Anderson Academy.

Study Shows Potential Impact of Dropout Rate

Members of United Way’s Women’s Initiative gathered at the Junior League of Houston on October 9 to kick off their 2009-10 campaign with the powerful stories of real people whose lives United Way has helped change. The afternoon was perfect for mingling, learning and sharing the can-do attitudes and community spirit of this exceptional group of women.
