Campaign Highlights
Vinson & Elkins, LLP raised more than $501,600 this year, an 8 percent increase over last year’s results. We are grateful for the strong support of Managing Partner Joseph C. Dilg. We also thank Partner and Law Firm Initiative Co-Chair Marie Yeates and Campaign Coordinator Heather Snyder for their hard work and dedication. You do something about it!
We thank Murphy Exploration & Production, which raised more than $210,000 for United Way this year, including a dollar-for-dollar company match. Results include an amazing 42 percent increase over 2008-09. We appreciate the leadership and support of President Roger Jenkins. We also thank Campaign Coordinator Christina Holland for running a great campaign.
United Way thanks Southern Union Company for raising more than $200,000 this year, including a 50 percent company match. Results reflect an outstanding 58 percent increase over last year. We are grateful for the support of Rob Bond, senior vice president of Pipeline Operations. We also thank Campaign Coordinator Shari Stafford and her team for all of their hard work this year!
American Bureau of Shipping raised more than $142,600 this year, including a dollar-for-dollar company match. Results reflect a 21 percent increase over 2008-09. We appreciate the leadership and support of Chairman and CEO Robert D. Somerville. Our thanks also go to Vice President of Human Resources Ray Bennett and Campaign Chair Karen Hughey. We also appreciate the efforts of Campaign Coordinator Marlene Stovall. You do something about it—the United Way!
Congratulations to Frost – Banking, Investments and Insurance for raising more than $117,500 this year, including a dollar-for-dollar company match. Results reflect a 14 percent increase over last year. We are grateful for the support of Robby Shelton, Houston regional president. We also thank Campaign Chair Mike Milich for his commitment to our community and Campaign Coordinators Janelle Karrer, Trakena Prevost and Jeanette Nunico for running a great campaign.
Thanks to Lubrizol Corp., which raised more than $113, 800 for United Way this year, a 44 percent increase over 2008-09 employee giving. We appreciate the leadership of Plant Manager Steve Oxley. Wal-Mart raised more than $81,800, including a dollar-for-dollar company match. Results reflect an incredible 55 percent increase. We are thankful for the leadership and support of Regional Vice President Ron Acosta. We also applaud the entire Wal-Mart team for doing something about it for our community!
