Community Building Grants
*UPDATE FOR 2018
United Way of Greater Houston will be offering Community Building Grants for local nonprofits in 2018. In an effort to streamline the process, interested organizations will no longer be required to attend an in-person mandatory funding conference. However, interested organizations will be required to view a webinar (1.5 hours in length) detailing the grant process and how to access the grant portal to submit applications.
The link to access the webinar for Cycle I is no longer available. The deadline to view the webinar was April 4 by 9:00am. If you missed this deadline, your organization must wait until 2019 to apply for funds. Community Building Grant information for 2019 will be posted on our website by Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
Community Building Grants are one-time, short-term grants of $1,000 to $10,000 awarded to nonprofit civic and neighborhood groups for projects that benefit the community. For more information and to apply, please download the following:
For questions or to have your organization added to our database for updates on funding opportunities, please email the name of your nonprofit organization, complete mailing address, phone number and name and title of the primary contact person to Shauna Harris.
