SNAP

Texans in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be able to buy hot foods and ready-to-eat-meals with their food benefits through March. SNAP customers can request a benefit replacement for food lost or destroyed due to the winter storm by calling 211, selecting their language, then selecting Option 2. They may also download the form online, with instructions linked at the top of yourtexasbenefits.com. WIC

If food you purchased with WIC benefits was lost in the winter storm, you may be able to receive replacement benefits during February. Contact your local WIC office.

What: Super Site Food Distribution
Where: 4700 Broadway Avenue J Galveston, TX 77551.
When: Second and Fourth Wednesdays of each month through December 2021, starting at 9:00 a.m. until food runs out:
Extra: No appointment is needed for the Super Site distribution, but families wanting food must come in a vehicle. People who travel on foot can be safely served at the Beacon of Hope Center other days of the week by appointment.

Important Notes: Everyone must wear a mask! You must fill out the survey provided from the Houston Food Bank the day of service and show proof of completion to staff in order to receive food. Limit of access is once every 7 days.  To receive survey :

  1. Text HFBPS to the number 94502
  2. You will receive a link to the survey.  Be sure the site of distribution says Rosenberg Richmond Helping Hands, Inc. 
  3. Show the screen with the date of survey completion to the staff at the distribution site. 
  4. Staff can help you if you cannot complete this survey, but it will be much quicker for you if you can complete it before you arrive.
